It was the start of the Harry Potter phenomenon-the movie part. The
kids-and adults-were already reading the books. Then I saw the first
movie; read the book. I was underwhelmed. I came away a skeptic and
haven't seen the other movies nor read the other books. I thought the
movie was for people who read the book. That said: which of the movies
do you believe are stand-alone, and worthy of attention, without
reading the book and being a fan of the books series.
