Marie Curie biopic heads to silver screen
BERLIN -- Marie Noelle is developing a biopic on Polish-French physicist Marie Curie.Setup just like a German-Polish co-production between Noelle and Peter Sehr's Munich-based P'Artisan Filmproduktion and Warsaw-based Pokromski Studio, "Marie Curie" just guaranteed EUR 30,000 ($41,374) in support within the German-Polish Co-Development Fund.Noelle, who's also penning the script in regards to the existence in the Noble Prize-winning investigator, and Sehr are presently co-pointing "Ludwig II," a historic drama in regards to the 19th-century Bavarian king, which Warner Bros. is delivering in Germany and Austria in December 2012. Noelle and Sehr also helmed 2008's "The Anarchist's Wife."Within the fifth year, the German-Polish Co-Development Fund has backed a complete of 16 co-productions since its launch, including Johannes Schmid's "Winter's Daughter," a great 11-year-old girl who sparks to find her biological father in Belgium, that will hit theaters here March. 20.The German-Polish Co-Development Fund can be a joint initiative between regional German funders Medienboard Berlin-Brandenburg and Mitteldeutsche Medienfoerderung (MDM) as well as the Polish Film Institute.
